Shot 75: STEADY, SON

By: Tom Newhouse in Leadership, 5 months ago

A Shot is a poignant leadership tip from “a rifle.”  Yes, leadership coach, Tom Newhouse, uses a rifle from his farming heritage to “tell it like it is.” —

“STEADY, SON.  STEADY.”  That’s Rudy telling Tommy to hold me tight, with a firm grip, and a solid stance while breathing deeply and then exhaling slowly.  You see, a good shot is a steady shot and that comes from a steady shooter.

Seems like a leadership lesson there, huh?  What would you guess?  Perhaps you need a steady hand on the future of your organization, be it large or small.  Perhaps one should spend time building a solid foundation, or else risk missing the mark.  Perhaps a leader needs to remain calm amidst crisis.  Oh, you may have other ideas, and good ones too.  To be steady is to be steadfast, undaunted, forward going, resolute, relentless, but not reckless.
