Shot 69: MY LEGACY

By: Tom Newhouse in Leadership, 2 months ago

A Shot is a poignant leadership tip from “a rifle.”  Yes, leadership coach, Tom Newhouse, uses a rifle from his farming heritage to “tell it like it is.” —

WHAT’S AN OLD RIFLE TO BE KNOWN FOR?  Well, I guess, in my case, it’s reliability.  Rudy counted on me, even as a single shot.  You see I performed well, reliably well.  I wonder if I will be remembered for this. I wonder if that will be worth remembering.

Why wonder?  Yes, leaders, you.  Why wonder about the legacy you will leave?  How about choosing what you can be known for and then what you will be known for?  Say, “okay.”  Do that and you are part way there.  Now, how about living out your choice?  If you picked something doable, although a stretch, yet noteworthy, and you live out that choice, you can and will leave a legacy—yours.  Say, “I’m on it.”  On what?  Say, “My Legacy.”  Go for it!
