The Purpose Path

We are all on a spiral path.  No growth takes place in a straight line.  There will be setbacks along the way…

There will be shadows, but they will be balanced by patches of light…

Awareness of the pattern is all you need to sustain you along the way.

Kristin Zambucka – Author/Artist/Producer

Life purpose is a choice to give your gifts naturally and spontaneously…  Important to reflect on those experiences when individuals with whom you care about, or who have invited you to share with them.  Maybe they were in need or asking for assistance or guidance.

Think about what you love doing or have a passion for that you give naturally.  A great question here, what do you want to give others that would make a difference for them? Or what is it that you do naturally, that you would like to give to others?

I feel that if I want to unlock, my own life purpose, I must think of purpose as an action in the world and as I reflect upon my gifts, I ask myself what gifts do I bring to serve others?  Do I awaken, inspire, ignite, support, guide?  Do I persuade, challenge, teach, coach, mentor?  Am I naturally moved to create, design, listen, love, accept, share?

Late one afternoon n Sept. 1915, Albert Schweitzer was sitting on the deck of small steamboat making its way up river to a settlement in Central Africa.  He was bringing medical supplies to the local population in French Equatorial Africa.  The boat was moving cautiously through a herds of Hippo’s in the river.  Schweitzer noticed how the Captain of the ship maneuvered  the ship to avoid hitting the Hippo’s.  For Schweitzer, the Captain represented the highest “Purpose” – reverence for life of other creatures.

Opportunities for aligning our own lives with our gifts are everywhere.  Using our gifts to serve others leads to happiness.  Through the expression of our gifts, we become and are more alive.

So, all of us eventually will face our own story, the time(s) when we are challenged to define our life on this earth.  Nothing shapes our lives as much as the questions we ask – or refuse to ask – throughout our lives.

The differences in the quality of our lives often lie in the quality of the questions that shape our stories. My own answer to the question is still growing and deepening after many years of asking.  My life has been a history of unlocking and integrating more elements of myself into my whole life.

Key Reflection Questions:(important to note here, you will notice something releasing in you as you share your responses to your experience and story)

In the last 24 hours:

  • How did I begin to explore the essence of my purpose?
  • What did I discover?
  • What are the intentions do I have for my life purpose?
  • What is it that keeps my heart beating?
  • What was it like to feel my energy as I bring my purpose to the world?

As you spend time with one or more of these reflection questions, describe your insights and discoveries and how you will integrate your new awareness of your being.  Focus your awareness inside of yourself, to an area where you find calm and ease.  Be gentle, locate a positive sensation(s), accept yourself as you are today and take all the time you need.
